Lee Jackets...

General Lee Jacket Information

**1930's to 1945. Lee's first cowboy jacket was manufactured around the '30's. This one-pocket jacket came with a buckle back. The buttons had "Union Made" imprinted on them. The neck tag was white with blue and red writing . The pocket tag simply read "Lee". This type of jacket is not listed above, as they are very rare.

1945 to early 1950's. The second generation of Lee jackets, 101J, also are referred to as Lee Cowboy jackets."Lee Cowboy" is impressed upon the buttons

These jackets have two pockets and no buckle back. The square neck tag is red and gold and reads "Union made Lee Sanforized." The red and gold tag reflects the 50's time period

Up to the 1950's, Lee tags did not have registered marks.
In 1960, Lee put on a single 'R' on it's tags.
In the late 60's until the present day, there is a 'R' and a 'MR'.

The Storm Rider 101LJ is the lined version of the 101-J.
The tag was embroidered until sometime in the 80's when Lee decided to print the tag.
